| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view favoured in provincial coinage of this period. The emperor's portrait is rendered in typical mid-3rd century Roman provincial style, with the laurel wreath, paludamentum, and cuirass clearly indicated. The circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field. |
