Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Tranquillina facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and gathered at the nape in a typical Severan-era style. The portrait is rendered in a provincial artistic idiom, with the legend encircling the effigy along the border of the flan.

Reverse description Pan, the pastoral deity, seated left upon a rocky outcrop, his right hand raised to his head in a characteristic pose of contemplative repose, while his left hand holds a pedum (shepherd's crook). A syrinx (pan pipes) is depicted in the left field, serving as an attribute identifying the deity. The colonial legend is distributed around the periphery of the reverse field.
