| 正面描述 | Radiate and cuirassed imperial bust of Gordian III facing left, depicted from the rear in the so-called 'heroic' three-quarter back view, the emperor holding a spear levelled forward over his right shoulder and bearing a large round shield against his left shoulder, the shield face decorated with a gorgoneion. The effigy conveys a strongly martial character, consistent with the military iconography prevalent in the Sardian civic coinage of this period. The obverse legend runs around the periphery in Greek characters. |

| 背面描述 | The goddess Tyche, personification of fortune and civic prosperity, depicted standing to the left in flowing drapery, holding a ship's rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia (horn of plenty) in her left arm. The figure is rendered in the conventional Hellenistic tradition standard for Lydian civic coinage. The encircling legend proudly proclaims the city's twice-neocorate status, a mark of exceptional imperial honour granted to Sardis for maintaining two temples of the imperial cult. The reverse legend is disposed around the periphery in Greek. |
