Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Phrygian civic issues. The emperor's youthful effigy is depicted with fine hair detail beneath the laurel wreath, and the paludamentum is visible at the left shoulder. The peripheral Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΝΤΩ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ, distributed around the bust, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of locally produced Antonine-era provincial bronze coinage.
