| Obverse lettering | ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΝΤΩ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ (Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Antonius Gordianus) |
| Reverse description | Nike (Victory) advancing left, clad in flowing drapery, holding a wreath extended forward in her right hand and a palm branch over her left shoulder. The figure is rendered in the conventional Hellenistic manner typical of Phrygian civic bronzes of the third century AD. A dotted border frames the design, with the civic ethnic legend ΑΚΚΙΛΑΕΩΝ disposed around the field, identifying the issuing community of Accilaeum. The reverse type alludes to imperial victory ideology, a common theme on provincial coinage under Gordian III. |
