Obverse description Bare, diademed head of the eponymous hero Kyzikos facing right, rendered in a youthful, idealized style typical of provincial Greek coinage. The legend ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ runs around the field. A serpent is depicted below the bust, serving as an attribute closely associated with the hero's cult at Cyzicus. The portrait displays a broad neck and flowing hair secured by a diadem, consistent with Mysianic civic coinage of the mid-third century AD.
