| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted from a rear three-quarter perspective, a presentation style characteristic of certain provincial issues of the period. The imperial effigy displays the laureate wreath and military cuirass in standard Roman provincial die-cutting style. The encircling legend runs around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters. The strike is somewhat irregular, consistent with the hammered technique typical of Asian provincial bronzes of the mid-third century AD. |
