Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, portrayed with youthful features typical of his provincial coinage. The circular Greek legend surrounds the imperial effigy, reading Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓ. The bust shows the emperor in paludamentum, consistent with the martial iconography common to Bithynian civic bronzes of the early third century AD. The flan is slightly irregular and the surfaces show an olive-green patina characteristic of provincial bronze issues.
