| Beschrijving keerzijde | Front elevation of a hexastyle temple viewed in slight perspective, set upon a stepped podium of two or three visible steps. Six columns support an entablature surmounted by a triangular pediment containing a globe or orb at its center. The roof acroteria are indicated at the apex and corners of the pediment. The architectural rendering is precise and detailed, characteristic of Nicaean civic pride in its sacred buildings. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is distributed in the field to the left and right of the temple facade. |
