Obverse description Radiate and draped bust of Apollo Lairbenos facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic coinage of the Severan period. The radiate crown is clearly defined, with the drapery visible over the shoulder. The Greek legend ΛΑΙΡΒΗΝΟϹ is disposed around the bust in the field, identifying the deity as the local syncretistic god Apollo Lairbenos, whose cult was prominent at Hierapolis in Phrygia.
