Magnesia on the Maeander — not to be confused with Magnesia ad Sipylum — retained the right to strike civic bronze under the Flavians largely because of its deep integration into the provincial economy of Asia. Domitian's reign saw tighter imperial oversight of provincial minting than his predecessors had exercised, yet Greek civic issues continued under his name across western Asia Minor, effectively co-opting local prestige for Roman administrative ends.
The II#275 reference places this within a catalogued series, though Magnesian bronzes of this period remain sparsely documented compared to the larger Lydian and Ionian civic issues.
