| 裏面の説明 | Depiction of a monumental fountain structure: a pillar or column surmounted by a seated lion facing left, from between whose forepaws water issues and flows downward into a basin at the base, oriented to the left. This reverse type alludes to the famous sacred spring or fountain of Troezen, a locally significant landmark celebrated on the civic coinage of the city. The composition is contained within the circular field, with the ethnic legend distributed around the type. The design reflects the pride of Troezen in its distinctive local topography and mythological associations. |

Troezen's civic bronze issues under Commodus are among the more obscure products of the Peloponnesian mints — the city's output was modest, and relatively few types are recorded. Troezen itself claimed mythological distinction as the birthplace of Theseus, a point the city leveraged aggressively in its coinage across the imperial period. The reference to IV.1#3544 places this within the Burnett-Amandry-Ripollès framework for Roman Provincial coinage, a corpus that continues to be revised as new specimens surface.
