Reverse description Two standing female divinities face one another in the field. To the left, Kore (Persephone) stands facing right, clad in chiton and himation, holding a long torch in her right hand and two ears of grain in her left. To the right, veiled Demeter stands facing left, extending a patera in her right hand and holding a long torch in her left. The juxtaposition of the two goddesses reflects the strong cult of the Eleusinian deities at Odessos. The ethnic legend of the city occupies the field between and around the figures.
