Reverse description The river-god Maiandros reclines to the left, his semi-nude figure leaning upon an urn from which water flows, emblematic of the Maeander River of Lydia. He holds in one arm the infant Zeus and in the other a cornucopia, symbols of divine nourishment and abundance. The magistrate's name and civic ethnic legend appear in the field and around the type in Greek characters, referencing the strategos Poplios Gramma(tikos) and the citizens of Tralles.
