| Reverse description | Standing figure of the eponymous hero Tralleus, rendered in military dress, facing front with head turned to the left. His right arm is extended outward, while his left hand holds a long spear. The composition reflects a common civic iconographic type used by the city of Tralles to evoke its legendary founder, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Lydian bronze coinage of the Antonine period. The encircling legend, though containing a scribal error, identifies the figure as the ktistes (founder) of Tralles. |
