Reverse description Hera, the principal deity of Argos and divine patroness of the city, depicted seated on a throne facing left, wearing a turreted crown that symbolises her role as protector of the city. In her right hand she holds a pomegranate, her traditional sacred attribute, while her left hand rests upon a long sceptre. The ethnic legend ΑΡΓΕΙωΝ appears in the field to the right, identifying the issuing civic authority. The figure is rendered in the standard provincial bronze style of the Antonine period.
