The composition follows a well-established provincial iconographic type associating the city of Maeonia with Rome's military prestige. The Greek magistrate's legend, naming the eponymous official, encircles the type in the field. The overall strike is slightly off-centre, with the reverse showing characteristic flatness on the higher relief elements. |
