The reverse legend ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ encircles the type, identifying the issuing city of Antiocheia ad Maeandrum. The type reflects the strong local association of the city with Dionysiac cult, common on the civic bronzes of Carian mints during the Antonine period. |
