Kissos was a small Mysian settlement in the Pergamene conventus whose civic coinage is sparsely documented — issues under Antoninus Pius represent some of the few surviving attestations of the town exercising minting rights at all. The strategos Hermogenes named in the legend held local magistracy during a period when such officials actively competed for the honor of appearing on civic bronze, tying personal prestige to the imperial cult.
The town's name disappears from the numismatic record shortly after this reign.
