Obverse description Draped bust of Salonina facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound with a diadem, portrayed in the provincial Roman style characteristic of Epirote civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The empress is depicted with finely rendered drapery across the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend reads ΚΟΡ ϹΑΛΩΝΕΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑ, identifying her as Cornelia Salonina Augusta, consort of Gallienus. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of provincial bronze issues of this period, and the surface shows an olive-brown patina with encrustation consistent with extended burial.
