Reverse description The emperor Trajan, clad in full military dress with paludamentum, stands facing left and extends his right hand to crown a trophy of arms erected before him; his left hand rests upon a spear. The trophy is composed of captured armour and weapons piled upon a pole, a standard iconographic motif of Roman imperial victory imagery on provincial bronze coinage. The legend ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ appears in the field, identifying the standing figure as Emperor Caesar Trajan.
