| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, conveying the imperial military character typical of Severan provincial coinage. The obverse legend encircles the effigy in Greek characters, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ϹΕΥ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟ, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The coin displays the characteristic style of the Ionian mint tradition, with the bust modelled in moderately high relief. Surface patination is heavy, consistent with extended burial, partially obscuring finer detail in the field. |
