Obverse description Draped bust of Plautilla facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and secured with a diadem, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Pergamene conventus. The obverse legend encircles the effigy, identifying the empress as Fulvia Plautilla Augusta. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat weak, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.

Reverse description A river god reclines to the left in the conventional Hellenistic manner, his semi-nude figure depicted with naturalistic drapery about the lower body. He holds a reed or branch in his extended right hand, while his left arm rests upon an overturned vase or urn from which water flows, symbolising the local river deity. The ethnic legend of Thyatira encircles the field.
