Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, with characteristic curled hair and short beard rendered in the distinctive Severan style. The imperial effigy is portrayed with considerable naturalistic detail, the laurel wreath clearly visible atop the head. A Greek legend surrounds the portrait, distributed around the border of the flan. The coin exhibits the typical irregular flan shape associated with provincial bronze coinage of Bithynia.
