| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in the characteristic Severan fashion. The empress is depicted with her customary regal bearing, the drapery rendered in fine folds across the shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field, identifying the Augusta by name and title. |

| Reverse description | Athena standing facing, her head turned to the left, depicted in full figure with a round shield resting at her feet. The goddess holds a long spear upright in her left hand and extends a patera in her right hand over a small lighted altar to her side. The composition follows the standard civic type of Athena as divine patron, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Asia Minor coinage under the Severan dynasty. The ethnic legend of the Nysaeans borders the reverse field. |
