| 背面描述 | Athena depicted standing to the left in full figure, clad in tunic and aegis, extending a patera in her right hand and holding an upright spear in her left. A round shield rests against her legs at her feet. The design is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic bronzes, with the figure occupying the central field. The ethnic legend ΚΟΤΙΑΕΩΝ is disposed around the figure, identifying the issuing city of Cotiaeum. |

Cotiaeum, a Phrygian city in the Synnada conventus, minted prolifically under Septimius Severus as civic bronze issues flourished across Asia Minor during his reign — partly because the disruptions of the 193 civil wars against Pescennius Niger and Clodius Albinus disrupted imperial coinage flows, leaving provincial mints to fill local exchange needs. The city is modern Kütahya, Turkey.
