附加信息

Cidyessus was a minor Phrygian city whose civic coinage survives in frustratingly small numbers, making attribution of individual dies a persistent problem for specialists. The city sat within the conventus of Synnada, one of the administrative districts Rome used to organize the province of Asia, and its bronzes were struck for purely local exchange — Rome had no particular interest in their production beyond tolerating it.

The reference V.2#336 places this squarely within Voegtli's die study, which remains the primary tool for sorting Cidyessan issues by reign.
