Dios Hieron was a minor civic mint in the Ephesian conventus whose output under Severus was limited enough that individual magistrate issues — this one citing Apollonides, son of Phoi — survive in very small numbers. The inclusion of the father's name in the magistrate legend is characteristic of Lydian and western Anatolian civic practice, distinguishing local officials in the epigraphic record rather than by title alone.
