Reverse description Athena seated left on a throne, wearing helmet and robes, extending her right hand to hold a figure of Nike and grasping a long vertical spear in her left hand. A round shield rests beneath the throne. The ethnic legend ΘΥΑΤΕΙΡΗΝΩΝ (of the Thyatirans) is distributed around the periphery of the field in Greek characters. The composition is typical of the civic bronze coinage of Thyatira in the mid-third century AD.
