Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Otacilia Severa facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Lydian mint at Laodicea ad Lycum. The empress is depicted with her hair elaborately coiffed and bound by a diadem, the drapery visible at the shoulder. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible despite the heavy green patination and surface wear. The portrait, though worn, retains the broad facial features typical of mid-third century provincial bronze portraiture.
