| Opschrift voorzijde | ΑΥΤ Μ ΙΟΥ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟϹ ϹΕΒ |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | Heracles depicted standing facing left with head turned to the right, nude save for the Nemean lion skin draped over his left forearm and hanging at his side. His right hand rests upon a grounded club set vertically before him. The composition is centered within the coin field, with the Greek civic legend ΙΕΡΑϹ ΝΕΙΚΟΠΟΛΕΩϹ distributed around the periphery, identifying this issue as a product of the sacred city of Nicopolis. The reverse is enclosed by a beaded border consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Philippan era. |
