| Reverse description | Artemis Leukophryene, the principal civic deity of Magnesia ad Maeandrum, standing facing in a frontal hieratic pose, wearing a kalathos (basket crown) and supported by two column-like props or poles at her sides. Two Nikai (winged Victory figures) fly inward from either side, each extending a wreath to crown the goddess, a composition characteristic of this mint's civic coinage. The ethnic legend ΜΑΓΝΗΤΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing community. |
