Mytilene's bronze coinage under Marcus Aurelius falls within a narrow window bracketed by two significant events: the conclusion of the Parthian War in 166 and the death of co-emperor Lucius Verus, and then the Germanic campaigns that consumed Marcus almost continuously through his final decade.
