背面描述 Central field features two lighted torches, each entwined by a serpent, flanking a centrally placed tree, the whole composition arranged vertically and filling the flan. The torches and serpents are rendered in low relief, consistent with the provincial hammered technique, while the tree between them likely alludes to local cult associations. The Greek magistrate legend, naming the strategos P. Salonios, runs around the periphery but is partially off-flan, appearing as ΕΠΙ ϹΤΡ Π ϹΑΛΩΝΙΟΥ followed by a break. The design is characteristic of the eclectic religious iconography found on Aeolian civic bronzes of the Antonine period.

附加信息

Elaea had long served as the port of Pergamum, and by the Antonine period its civic coinage was entirely subordinate to the prestige of the *conventus* capital. The magistrate name partially preserved in the legend — Salonius — appears on a small cluster of bronzes from this reign, suggesting a single term of office rather than a recurring appointment. Provincial bronze of this type rarely traveled far; most examples that survive were found within a tight radius of the issuing city.
