| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Ephesian mint. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, with the laurel wreath clearly distinguishable despite significant surface patination. A Greek titular legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full imperial nomenclature. The portraiture reflects the conventional Roman provincial idiom of the early second century AD. |
