Reverse description Hera, the patron goddess of Nicaea, enthroned and seated to the left upon a high-backed throne, rendered in the classical divine style favoured by Bithynian civic coinage. She extends her right hand forward holding a patera for libation, while her left hand grasps a long vertical sceptre. The figure is draped in a long chiton and himation. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ appears in the lower field, identifying the issuing city.
