| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, a typical provincial die-cutting convention of the Bithynian workshops. The imperial effigy is encircled by a Greek legend running along the periphery of the flan. The surface shows an olive-brown patina consistent with prolonged burial, with moderate wear across the high points of the portrait. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is characteristic of hand-struck provincial bronzes of this period. |
