| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, portrayed three-quarter from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The Imperial effigy displays the characteristic youthful features of the emperor. A Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, reading ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full titulature as Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus. |

| Reverse description | A lighted torch standing upright in the center of the field, around which a serpent is coiled in sinuous fashion, its head oriented to the left. This imagery evokes chthonic and religious symbolism associated with the cults practiced at Cyzicus. The encircling Greek legend in the field reads ΚΥΖΙΚΗ ΝΕΟΚ, proclaiming the neocorate status of the city of Cyzicus, an honorific title granted by Rome signifying the city's privilege to maintain an imperial temple. |
