Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Diadumenianus facing right, rendered in moderately high relief with visible paludamentum folds over the left shoulder. The youthful effigy displays characteristic features of the short-lived Caesar, with cropped hair and a slender neck. The legend, largely off-flan or worn on this example, would have named the emperor in Greek characters around the portrait field. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with provincial hammered bronze production.
