| Obverse description | Bare-headed portrait bust of Deiotarus Philadelphus facing right, rendered in a Hellenistic style with strong, angular facial features and a prominent chin. The effigy occupies the central field, with the circular Greek legend disposed around the periphery. The portrait displays characteristic late Hellenistic die-cutting with bold relief, though the flan is somewhat irregular. The inscription ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΙΟΤΑΡΟΥ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ encircles the bust, identifying the ruler by his royal title and epithet. |
