Reverse description A horse depicted grazing to the right occupies the central field, its head lowered toward the ground in a naturalistic pose evoking the celebrated sacred horses of Alexandria Troas. Behind the horse stands the herdsman Orodes, a local mythological figure, facing right and gazing downward, holding a pedum (shepherd's crook) in his hand. To the left of the composition, a tree is rendered schematically, providing a pastoral setting. The colonial legend is distributed around the reverse field. The overall composition is characteristic of the distinctive local coinage tradition celebrating the mythological heritage of the Troad region.
