Reverse description A tall tripod shown in full frontal view, its three legs splaying outward toward the base, with a bowl or cauldron at the summit. The reverse type alludes to the Actian Games established by Augustus at Nicopolis. The Greek legend ΚΤΙΣΜΑ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΥ (Foundation of Augustus) is divided across the field to either side of the tripod, referencing the city's founding by the emperor following his victory at Actium in 31 BC.
