| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynian coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic mature facial features with a short beard, as standard for his portraiture during his reign. The circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with provincial hammered bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD. |
