| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Syrian civic coinage. The emperor's portrait displays a wreath of laurel leaves and a paludamentum over the left shoulder. A Greek imperial titulature legend surrounds the effigy, running clockwise from the lower left along the border of the flan. The portrait occupies the majority of the flan, with the field showing a dark patina over the bronze fabric. The irregular flan, typical of provincial hammered coinage of the Antonine period, imparts a slightly oval outline to the design. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Kataibates ('the Descending,' associated with lightning) seated left upon a throne, holding what appears to be an eagle or sceptre in the extended right hand and a long sceptre in the left. The deity is depicted in the local Syrian iconographic tradition, combining Hellenic and Near Eastern elements. The encircling Greek legend naming the issuing city of Cyrrhus runs along the periphery of the flan. The reverse field is worn but the principal design elements and the seated figure remain clearly distinguishable against the dark patinated surface. |
