背面描述 Apollo standing facing right, depicted in full figure with the god's head turned slightly. In his right hand he holds a plectrum, and in his left he cradles a lyre which rests upon a column to his side. The figure is rendered in a classical stance within a dotted border. The lengthy Greek reverse legend, arranged in multiple lines around the field, records the name of the local magistrate Tiberius Claudius Phoenix acting under the strategos Italicus, identifying the issuing civic authority of the Macedonian Blaundians.

附加信息

Blaundus, a small Lydian city in the Sardis conventus, styled itself "of the Macedonians" — a colonial identity claim tracing back to its Macedonian settler foundation, almost certainly under the Seleucids in the third century BC. The magistrate name Italicus recorded in the legend is otherwise poorly attested, and the archon Tiberius Claudius Phoenix named alongside him suggests a local elite family that had received Roman citizenship, likely under Claudius or Nero, before this issue was struck under Vespasian's reign.
