正面描述 Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the typical provincial style of the mid-third century AD. The portrait is encircled by a beaded border, with the imperial titulature legend distributed around the bust within the field. The effigy displays characteristic features of Gallienic portraiture as produced by the Lydian civic mint of Nysa.

附加信息

Nysa-Scythopolis in the Maeander valley was one of the more prolific civic mints of the Ephesian conventus, continuing to strike bronze well into the joint reign despite the empire fracturing under Gothic invasions and the simultaneous crises of Shapur I's campaigns in the east. The co-reign of Valerian and Gallienus — father and son ruling together from 253 until Valerian's capture at Edessa in 260 — produced an enormous variety of provincial types across Asia Minor, most issued under civic initiative rather than imperial directive.

The X# reference places this outside the standard RPC or SNG corpora, suggesting a piece catalogued primarily through private collection documentation.
