Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed imperial bust facing right, seen from the rear, presenting the effigy of Emperor Valerian I. The emperor wears a radiate crown and military cuirass with pteruges visible at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend encircles the bust in the field, rendered in capital letters. The portrait exhibits the typical provincial die-cutting style of the Asia Minor workshops, with bold, slightly schematic modeling.
