Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Empress Salonina facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view from the front, with elaborately dressed hair adorned with a stephane. The Greek legend ΚΟΡ ϹΑΛΩΝΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑ (Cornelia Salonina Augusta) surrounds the effigy, partially visible on the irregular flan. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of Pontic civic coinage of the mid-third century AD.
