Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valerian II facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front, displaying characteristic provincial portraiture of the mid-third century AD. The effigy exhibits a radiate or laurel wreath crown, with drapery visible at the shoulder and cuirass detailing below. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΕΠΙΦ ΚΑΙ ΠΟ ΚΟΡ ΟΥΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟϹ, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The style is consistent with the civic coinage of Aphrodisias in Caria, struck under the joint reign of Valerian I and Gallienus. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges and a patinated surface typical of bronze provincial issues of this period.
