Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trebonianus Gallus facing right, depicted from behind in the three-quarter rear view characteristic of mid-third-century provincial coinage. The imperial effigy is rendered in a sturdy, somewhat schematic style typical of Ionian civic bronzes of this period. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative, occupying the full periphery of the flan.

Reverse description Apollo Klarios, the tutelary deity of Colophon's famous oracular sanctuary at Claros, seated to the left on an omphalos or throne, holding a laurel branch in his extended right hand and a lyre resting against his left side. The figure is rendered in a calm, hieratic posture befitting the god's prophetic role. The ethnic legend ΚΟΛΟΦΩΝΙΩΝ is disposed in the right field, identifying the issuing civic authority of the Colophonians.
