| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trebonianus Gallus facing right, depicted from behind in the three-quarter rear view characteristic of mid-third-century provincial coinage. The imperial effigy is rendered in a sturdy, somewhat schematic style typical of Ionian civic bronzes of this period. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative, occupying the full periphery of the flan. |

| Reverse description | Apollo Klarios, the tutelary deity of Colophon's famous oracular sanctuary at Claros, seated to the left on an omphalos or throne, holding a laurel branch in his extended right hand and a lyre resting against his left side. The figure is rendered in a calm, hieratic posture befitting the god's prophetic role. The ethnic legend ΚΟΛΟΦΩΝΙΩΝ is disposed in the right field, identifying the issuing civic authority of the Colophonians. |
